u bite the octopus because it stuns and eventually kills them….then people usually pulehu(grill)them after being salted and pounded to get the slime off in order to eat it….but some people like i do store them in the freezer for about a year which gets it more tender when u decide to pound it.

Think about it…. No real enforcement on divers nor fishermen. I smoke tako for my friends but I tell them bring the tako an I smoke em for them but Nothing Smaller than 3 lbs. Tako smaller than 3 lbs to me is not worth my time nor effort to clean and smoke because 70% of weight is H2o. A 5# tako after cleaning and smoking, if lucky may be 1.5# of smoke tako. I smoke it old skewl, not that liquid smoke krap.

Not that impressive… any fish within 20 feet is easy to shoot with a gun. Try use a 3 prong next time with no weight belt/suit. etc.. Old School… and shoot an Ulua… then that be impressive. Don’t get me wrong,your video is good. But I’m just saying fishes have no chance when hunted with a spear gun. At least, with a 3 prong(Hawaiian Sling), fishes has a better chance of getting to live another day. You know already it’s getting harder to find and shoot good quality fish because nobodycares
